I brought my chevy Impala in OHIO I was so happy but, I asked the dealer what is that skunk smell, I had a sinus infection at that time but I still smelled a smell in it that smell like weed or skunk as they say, no one else smelled it at the time, then I test drove the car at a later date and asked again about the smell, the acknowledge it and called it a skunk smell and sprayed the car. I took my car to the dealer they spray and said maybe the cabin filter I had it changed, I can't smell all the time do to bad sinus issues. I was even stopped on the highway due to speeding a few weeks after I got the car and he highway patrol asked were we using marijuana, and searched my car I explained that the smell was an issue when I bought the car.

she was gonna have the dogs to search but they were to far away. I then went back to the dealer a couple years later and he said hey remember you complained about your car smelling like a drugs, someone else had that problem with their Chevy Impala, please help this is a major problem.

I am writing this for my dad, he bought his 2007 Impala in the spring of 07 and had no problems with it the first year, as the weather got warmer in the spring of 08 he began noticing a skunky odor from his AC vents, as the summer went on and he was using the AC more the stink got worse. He took it to a local dealer and they said yes it smells bad and gave him a few ideas to try, like driving with the windows open and the blower on high for a long period of time. That just made him sick the whole time, didnt solve a thing. He took it back to the dealer, at which time he walked in the door the service writer said he could smell it on his clothes. They got an air deodorizing kit to run through the heating and cooling system but that didn't help either. This problem was only noticeable to him when it was hot and he used the AC. The first time I rode in the car it was a very cool day and the vent wasn't even on and I could smell something, this after the dealer said it was fixed. My dad got so used to the slight smell he didn't notice at the time. I right away described the skunky odor as the smell of fiberglass being sanded like in a body shop, a smell i was very familiar with. It got up to the mid 60s on day in December, he put the AC on and wouldn't ya know, there is that darn stinky smell again. I drove straight to the dealership and the service guys said it smelled fine, they didnt smell anything. They don't want to do anything else about it now, but it still smells awfull, he drives his car as little as possible now due to the smell. Where does it stop?

Has anyone been having a problem with a skunky odor coming from the heating system in there implala's. Our car stinks real bad and I have had it in 3 time to get checked The first time they said there was nothing wrong, the 2nd time after my wife had returned from a long trip with the windows down she want in and quit verbally told them that they were all nuts at which time the car was in the shop for over a week will the changed the insulation blanket on the fire wall. That solved nothing, it was back in the shop again for a week will they changed some rubber gasket or something. I picked it and drove all of 5 km's and new that solved nothing. I went back and complained and they said that they ran the car for over 2 hours and thought it was fine. I had a loaner car for the last week, a 2007 grand prix it smelt perfectly fine. they have also changed the cabin filter and done something with dryer system too. Any idea's
