I have had this happen a couple times most recently today. My oil light came on and the message on the dash says "oil pressure low, stop engine". Each time I stop and turn the car off and turn it back on and the message goes away. I get my vehicle serviced regularly and the first time this happened I checked the oil and it was fine. I placed some cardboard under the car overnight to see if there was any oil leaking and the next morning nothing. This is becoming very annoying because I don't know if this is something major or a glitch. Has anyone else had this problem if so, what it fixed and how much did it cost?

In December of 2013 my 2007 Impala starting reading Oil Pressure Low Stop Engine. I asked the dealership about this issue and they said that they would charge $100 just to look at it. The problem was VERY ANNOYING since the chimer on the car would chime over and over again. Eventually the chime would stop and start back again. It was really really really irritating. I finally got the issue fixed. It was the oil not dispensing properly. It now has 143000 miles and runs like new. I am also going to send a complaint to the Chevrolet Corporate office because there are several other people with this same issue.
