Yesterday, (12/1/2011), I was at the end of my shift, walking out to my awesome impersonation mobile. As I began to pull away, one of the co-workers pointed at the front of my car. I was hoping somebody had ran into it so I could claim it on insurance, but sadly, this wasn't the case. My right, front headlight had went out. Okay, routine maintenance... Replace the bulb when I get home.
I get home, it's cold out, and I'm a slacker. Instead, I go in and sleep. This morning I wake up, and pull away for work. Neither of my headlights are working. I rotate the knob a few times... Brights still work, but not my normal headlights (Automatic, nor manual position on the light dial).
I was pretty excited, I had an excuse to stay home from work! Instead, I pulled over and got out of my car. I know both bulbs aren't about to go out. I walk up to the front, and smack them lovingly, twice each. Each one turned on as I smacked them.
Sounds like the positive wire on the low beam is loose, on both bulbs. Thankfully, this was a cheap fix, and a tremendous safety hazard. This is why I'll never buy another American vehicle (see other complaints to be filed shortly about this pile of crap).

Left headlight would not come on last winter when I would start the car. Smacking the headlight would usually get it to come on. During the spring and summer of this year it gave me no problem but, last Monday the light again refused to come on. No amount of smacking it helped. When I got home from work I checked and sure enough the bulb was burned out. I replaced the bulb the next day but it would not illuminate. I checked the fuse. It was burned out. I replaced it and the bulb lit but intermittently would go out and come on as I handled the assembly putting it back in the headlight assembly. When I had it all together the headlight worked. The next morning it would not come on but after a day at work and temps in the 60's the light worked again. Ok so now it works I thought but was mistaken because the next morning it again refused to come on. grrrrrrr. So tomorrow I will be going to a salvage yard or parts store to try to get wire harness or headlight assembly.
Update from Oct 25, 2019: Unplugging the lamp I used a very small screwdriver to move the ends of the wires toward each other accidentally tipping the ends. I then used that same screwdriver to straighten the ends as they should be. I turned the lights on then plugged the lamp in. It came on and stayed on actually seemed to be brighter. I've had no trouble with it since.
