This is a common problem on all newer gm cars! Why will gm not recall them? I've had it replaced in 2 of my new gm cars now, and the last one was changed 6 times in the 37,900 miles i put on the car! Now this one! Really GM, I have over 20 people behind me on this one so far. That is from people that I know, and I live in Rural MN! This is bull, here is your new car, and your problems! Thanks for Shopping GM throw away car sales!

i won't go into the problems i have had with local dealerships here for ford and chevrolet. i use an absolutely reliable local garage. the "bumping" in the steering column has just started and is not loud or even heard. but i can feel it when rounding a curve. and it does not have to be a sharp curve. i think this next thing would be a separate issue. my garage mechanic found that the "spool" pulley/balance wheel for the serpentine belt was "rutted" from a teflon type "bushing" such that it had to be replaced. under normal wear it should have lasted up to 100,000 miles i am told. the chevrolet dealer (where i bought it) says in essence, sorry we can't help you.

I believe that there is something with the rack and pinion. I have no idea how much this is going to cost to fix but I know that it probably needs to be done. I've seen where people have lost steering control due to this. It is hard to steer in reverse and to turn at slower speeds. It also makes a ticking noise when I am doing those things. The steering column just seems tight in general. Chevy needs to check into this and issue a free solution because I know others have this complaint as well.
