2007 Chevy Impala. Replaced engine at 140.000 miles. Approximately 4 months ago I went to several auto mechanics and I explain to them that coming from a complete stop at a light when the car get to approximately 20 miles and 40 there was a thump or bump sound. No one could tell me what was wrong with the car. After about two months it got worse and the thump was more frequently. Today on the way to the shop when I hit the gas the rpm was pass 3000 and you could hear the rev...the car was barely moving. Made it to the mechanic he said my transmission is shot. I am a first-time Chevy customer.... I'm going back to my Buicks...

Update from Mar 4, 2016: Approximately 8 months ago I put an engine in Cost $ 2750.00. Had no idea transmissions was next. Just picked car up today after rebuilt transmission. $2354.00. 1 hour later car stop. I will never purchase a Chevrolet Impala or a Chevrolet ever. Going back to my buicks.

I purchased my 2007 Chevy Impala in December 2006 new with 33 miles. After 3 years, my forward band went on my transmission, I replaced that because it was covered under warranty. 2 months before my warranty expired, I took it back to the dealer explaining that I was having issues with the transmission, it was slipping. The dealer, didn't do what I needed and did something else to the car, and 2years later, I burned out 2 cylinders in my transmission. I took it back to the dealer and my warranty, expired and I had to pay out of pocket to fix it. that cost me $2400 to fix and rebuild the transmission. 3 years later were in 2015 and my forward bend went again in my transmission and now need to have my transmission rebuilt again. That is costing $2,000.

I had the car towed after working hours to the dealer because that is when it broke down, I received a nasty phone call about my car being towed in and no one being notified. I had the car towed by Chevy to the dealer, GM contacted the dealer to make them aware that my car was being towed there and that the issue was the transmission. The Chevy dealer wasn't able to check my car until 2 days later. I called Chevy headquarters and explained to them my issue with dealership, how I was treated as a customer. The customer service rep at Chevy stated that he would get my diagnostic fee waved. When my car was finally looked at and issues were explained, I informed my service rep of the promise given by Chevy and, she was nasty and unprofessional just as the days before. She told me that Chevy has to send an email to them making them aware of the charge being waved. Nothing was done about it ,after calling Chevy headquarters, they were unsuccessful with helping to cover my charge. I paid $124.15 for the diagnostics. I had to because, my car was being towed the next day to be taken care of because the dealer wanted $4200 for it. Chevy has not responded to me and hasn't helped me with anything that they promised.

Once my car is fixed, I will keep my car for 6 months and will trade it in never to buy a CHEVY car again. I've never experienced anything like I have with Chevy. I am disappointed and won't be buying a Chevy again!!!

i have a 2007 chevy impala, it flashed engine power reduced and would slow down dramatically. everywhere i took it including my own dealership could not determine the problem. so on march 24, 2014 my whole transmission failed on me on my way home from work. i was beyond pissed. i felt like i was passing out money for people to tell me the same sh*t and not do anything about it and they are telling me it will cost 1700 to fix. I'm a college student with a small job working at a carwash its so frustrating dealing with mess like this.
