Transmission sort of slipped. Started at light, hit the accelerator, car didn't move then all of a sudden grabbed and gave you whiplash. Took to Chevrolet dealer in Webster, NY several times, couldn't find problem. Finally got the car to do it and dealer couldn't figure out the problem so wanted to replace transmission @ $4000. Traded the car in.
The problem escalated from a little twitch once in awhile to full blown whiplash at every stoplight. The wife's 07 is starting to do the same, dealer said some of the transmission cases were porous.....hum.

When the car was originally purchased at Burt Chevrolet it had a warranty and so when the problem first showed up I took it back for warranty service. The mechanics told me nothing was wrong even though I explained in detail what the problem is. Took it back three more times, they refused to fix it. I took it to another mechanic today and found out that it requires a complete rebuild at the cost of $2,400.00. Problem: At a stop, press gas, won't move, then lurches into gear.

Have a 07 Chevy impala, after going thru tires, now my car started stalling when i turn left, and now its starting go to 3,000 rpm while driving sometimes. I has told, its the power steering pump going bad but it seems me like a transmission issues to me.

The transmission seems to not go back to first when you stop, and then when you take off, it hesitates, and then you feel the front wheels slip and it drops into gear and then wants to take off fast. I have had 4 intermediate shafts on this replaced, the last was not covered by my extended warranty, they consider it a recall item, and won't pay for it to be fixed, so I had to pay over 400.00 for it. Then the rack went out, which was then replaced, and then they told me the transmission lines where leaking, and I had to pay to have those repaired, another 300.00. It seems these cars have some sort of transmission problem, shades of the 1980's "power steering syndrome" when the car was cold in the winter, you couldn't turn the steering wheel. I'm bringing it in next week for oil change, and to have this looked at, if they tell me they can't "make it do that" I'm going to trade it in, and never again buy Chevrolet. I've been very disappointed in the seemingly stupid irritating problems these cars have, which Chevrolet does not stand behind. I bought this car as a "rental return" in Oct of 2007, and it had 28,000 miles on it then, so, you can see how low mileage I've put on it over the years to have so many problems with the transmission, drive-train of this vehicle.

I have had my Chevy Impala 2007 for 6 years and first the tire sensor acts up, it’s on when there is nothing wrong with the sensor, the transmission oil is leaking and the car is jerking every so often. Has a very slow take off and feels like its pulling. No one can tell me why its leaking or really where, the transmission is slipping and I have taken this vehicle to get all the proper updates.

The transmission on this car slips intermittently between first to second, and second to third.
It's most affected upon acceleration from a stop (working in Chicago, I'm on the gas and brakes for 3-4 hours a day). The car shudders, and then BANG as it shifts into second. (and same with second into third). This usually happens under light acceleration, for whatever reason, flooring it usually reduces it.
I've bought the car under GM's "Certified Used Car" program, so I was well within the warranty window at this point. I've brought it to the dealer that sold it to me (name held to prevent hilarious public ridicule). Each time of the three times, they told me they couldn't reproduce it.
One of these times, they had it for over a week... Well, I wrote down the odometer before and after and found they only drove 14 miles... I drive 110 a day for work alone, and it doesn't impact me all the time.
The last time I brought it there, I took the "Shop Foreman" for a ride to attempt to get it to slip. He explained it was too infrequent for them to find the problem, but he did tell me about countless other Impalas with "mystery transmission problems."
The other night, it was happening so bad that my girlfriend dropped her cellphone on the floor of the car from the hard jerking (lol) motion of the trans. I put it in neutral, coasted to a stop, then started it again, shifting through each of the gears while on the brake, about 10 seconds in each gear. Seemed to help -- for that night.
Still waiting for the trans to blow, and since I'm at 108,000 miles, I'm 8k out of the "certified warranty" scam. It's obvious they didn't even pop the hood, or this would have been sent to the hood (at auction).

THIS IS BULLSHIT I CANT UNDERSTAND HOW CHEVY ISN'T BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE!!!!!! I am not rich like the CHEVORLET company. I work very hard for my money and I have children that I take care of and I buy a car off of them and now I have a major issue with the transmission? I mean this isn't just a starter or an alternator this is a very very costly fix!!!! I'm just so sick of the rich guys getting richer and we get shafted!!!
