I bought this vehicle at 2yrs old with around 32,000 miles on it. I notices after purchasing it that the tires thumped slightly which got pergressively worse over a couple of months. I had new tires put on and had a four wheel alignment done to correct the problem. Within a couple of months, the problem came back after driving just a few thousand miles. After trying to rotate and balance the tires a couple of times, I had to replace the tires again. In 1 year I had to replace tires and do alignments three times at a cost of over a $1500. The dealer tells me that this vehicle is "finicky" when it comes to tires and that I should do what they call a "road force balance" every time that I cange my oil. A "road force balance" costs $70, this would mean that every oil change would cost me $100. After a couple of "road force balances, the problem was still there and I got sick of being ripped off by Chevy.

For the past year I have just driven the car with the tires pounding like crazy because I didn't want to spend more money to not fix the problem. This vehicle has brake issues as well and I could make a payment on a BMW or Benz for what I put in it in maintenance. I have filed a complaint on Chevy's web site and talked to the dealer starting when the warranty was still in place and noone cares. Now that the 36,000 mile warranty has expired they really don't care. The moral of the story is Chevy doesn't care so don't buy one!!

I purchased an Impala LT with the 3.5 Engine less than a month ago. The car had brand new tires on it when I purchased it, with the nipples still there. The car drove pretty good, seemed like it was balanced and Aligned. I noticed about 7 days into owning the car, the road noise got louder and the brakes didn't give me the stopping power like they did when first getting the car. I took the my Impala to Discount tire and they told me the tires are wearing out alot faster in the front than the back and I could see exactly what they were talking about. Discount tire balanced and rotated tires it seemed to take a little road noise away, but my front end started getting louder and louder each day and the brakes felt warped, today it was so bad I took it to my mech and he told me the rotors are warped in the front and at 52,000 this isn't suppose to happen, he replaced the front rotors and pads, and said the car is out of balance (even though I got it balanced a week ago) he said the front tires are wearing out in a strange way, one tred sticks out and the next tred does not and the next thred on same side sticks out and so on all the way around the tire. He also said the car needs a front end alignment big time, because he drove it after installing rotors and pads, he is doing the alignment tomorrow, and Im keeping track of everything I'm having done to my car. I drive slow and take very good car of my car I want it to last me a long time, but it seems like the car doesn't want to align or stay balanced and already starting to ruin brand new tires within 2 weeks. After this is all said and done tomorrow and work is completed, I better not have a problem like this a month later.. Or I think GM need to look at my car and fix the defect with the tires... It's unsafe and I don't want to get killed driving down the highway because GM didn't build the car safe from the get go. They fixed the 07 Chevy Impala Police cars with rear alignment problems, dont see why they cant fix my car if it has a problem from factory. I can't afford to buy new tires 4 times a year with alignments, rotors... I also have transmission problems.. but thats a whole other complaint.
