This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chevrolet dealer.
I was adjusting the heater controls when I heard a pop from the passengers side and the smelled something burning. The blower motor went out and the dash instrument display went out including the speedometer and turn signals. Car was still ran.
the next morning, Monday, I took the car to the dealer. They replaced the fuse and said everything was working. I said OK, but want caused the problem and where did the burning smell come from? They said they would check. They reported that the wire to the blower motor has shorted out and they spliced in a new section of wire. I think that was a two bit repair and did not address the cause. That was nice of them but no answer on what caused the problem. They said that may or may not fixed the problem.
I fully expect the problem to reoccur.
