This car is a total piece of crap. The dealer was of no help, they only want to sell cars, not fix them! This car has had two 4-wheel alignments, gone through two stes of front tires, in only 58,500 miles. GM products are a total ripoff. The GM does not stand behind what they sell. But this I understand, when all you sell is junk!!!!!!

Following is edit from previous TIRE WEAR complaint 2009 Impala.
Oil leak that prompted dealer inspection and my tire wear complaint turned out to be an intake gasket leak. The alignment required replacement of left front strut due to "excessive clearance between internal shaft and strut cylinder" I believe the suspension is not able to absorb road shock with tires at 35 psi. Setting pressure to 30 psi as recommended on door frame label, causes rapid tire wear not covered by any warranty's, standard or extended.
So......lower tire pressure to save suspension and better ride, or raise tire pressure and save the tires ? I don't want to spend the money on either.
Update from Dec 10, 2012. The dealer is happy to re-align the tires often, while you buy tires. Poor design, bad weight distribution with 61% front and 39% rear on small wheels.

I found out after 3 tire rotations that all four wheels have been out of alignment for enough time that all tires will need to be replaced in addition to cutting both front struts to get the wheels aligned. Seems to me this should be partially paid by GM as an act of "goodwill".

I HAD GOTTEN MY CAR ALIGNMENT FIXED AND GOT NEW TIRES AND IT JUST MADE IT EVEN WORSE.
