Impala LT 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,202 miles

I will never buy another GM product ever again, seems that after they filed for bankruptcy they have made a cheap product just to try and turn a profit at the people's expense. I tell everyone I know stay away from GM, they really do suck !!! Dodge and Ford here I come for all my needs.

Impala LS 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 138,000 miles

2010 Impala well it finally shut down on the highway:

I had gotten the stabilatrak-reduce engine power over the past year, but today it shut down on the hiway saying starting was disabled! I coasted to a safe stop (it was not easy) not power anything!

Time frame: 7:25 AM, normal driving = orange lights stabi-reduced power, pulled over parked 5min, restarted stayed on, continued city driving w/ a little shaking and no real acceleration, drop kid a school, got on hiway doing about 65, complete shut down, 7:45 multiple messages, starting disabled, low fuel (not) etc. got to off rank stopped, read a few emails waited a 10 re started, stable-power gone, but CE light stayed on.

Impala LT V6

While driving car down a country road power cut out on engine multiple times and had to restart engine every time and traction control and stabilizer light came on. This is not a normal malfunction. as other people have said this happened on a freeway and car cut out. Does someone have to DIE before you fix it GM.

Impala LTZ 3.9L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

Bought the '10 Impala LTZ at the end of July/Early August 2011 with 27,000 miles on it. I made a trip to Oklahoma/Texas border same day I brought the vehicle home. Upon returning from my trip, the traction control light came on, called the dealership, made an appointment, but the next day when I turned the car on, it was no longer on. Called the dealership and they said their was nothing they could do since the light was no longer on. A few weeks later it came back on, called the dealership, drove it straight down, it had the traction control light on and said that the engine was losing power. Replaced the accelerator and I haven't had any issues since then with that. But around 40,000 miles I started noticing that when I take off, the RPM will go up, but car will not move then gives a violent lurch and takes off. (Just reached 50,000mi) Dealership said they can't do anything about it because their is no light and they have not heard of this car having this issue and when they test drove it, the car drove perfect. I don't know..Will keep ya'll posted on if (which I hope not) anything else happens.

Impala LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,900 miles

We purchased this vehicle Dec. 18th 2010. It had 30334 miles and seemed like a very nice dependable vehicle. With in a week we found the trunk flooded with water. Chevy fixed the issue as the back window was defective. This took a week! I took the car for the first time on a 2.5 hr drive where as I was coming down a mountain and applied the breaks the steering wheel bounced violently! I took the car to the nearest shop. They told me the rotars were warped. How could this be? I got home and took the car in had the rotars repaired. The mechanic test drove the vehicle and the Traction Control light came on with the check engine light with the message in the DIC saying...service traction control device engine power reduced. They hooked the car up to diagnose and the code was the left front sensor. They cleared the codes and hooked it up again. Test drove it while being tested and nothing. They felt perhaps there was dirt or something in there that cause this "anomolie". This is two weeks later and the DIC message is the same, service traction control...engine power reduced. I've read so many complaints I'm terrified I purchased a lemon! I'm not sure what to do the car only has 39,302 miles on it?

Update from Mar 4, 2012: Since this complaint...this issue has continued. We've taken the car to the Chevy dealer and they couldn't locate the problem. We were told to bring the car back when this happens not to shut the car off as it resets it's self. This continues to happen and of course the shop is always closed when it does. We found shutting the traction control off helped until now. With the traction control off the ck engine light is on and saying same thing...engine power reduced and service traction control device. Shifting is very rough also durring this time. Car is going back into the shop tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Update from Mar 5, 2012: This car is at the chevy dealer shop again! They have no idea what is going on with this car. They have read old "history" codes and appears to have something to do with the accelerator. The extended warranty company has told them under no circumstances are they to replace that part. The dealer said they need to continue to drive my car around to get the issue to duplicate in order to "sell" it to the warranty co. My hands are in the air..the dealer says there has been five failures but none being "hard" failures. We don't know what to do at this point. Any advice would be appreciated.

Update from Mar 6, 2012: The shop replaced the app assembly. They are hoping this fixes the issue with the tcd/engine power reduced. They were unable to duplicate the problem so they went by the history code. The history code was the accelerator assembly. We were told this was their best guess and to bring the vechicle back should the problem persist.
