my car has had a problem with stabilitak since november 2012. It has been to 3 different dealerships but NONE of them have fixed the problem. On july 15.2013 car would not start (with mutiple warnings re service stabilitak, service abs brakes ) -- went to dealerdhip --- thet SAID it was battery -- cost $489 AND THEY used 1/4 tank of gas and added many km. now july 28, 2013 car would not start with the same warnings as before. It can't be the new battery --- only driven about 15km -- 2 different trips.

It has had a no spedometer, rough ride,no power, not start --- ALL with warning to service stabitrak

Which sensorS cause these multiple problems?

I bought the car in August of 2011 from a GM dealer in Vicksburg, MS. Yes, he showed me the CarFax and there was nothing to indicate problems.

The first time this happened, Dec 2011, than again Feb or Mar 2012, it was just a matter of the engine light coming on. Took it to the dealer, who said they couldn't find anything wrong. Happened again in April however this time THE PROBLEM ALMOST GOT US KILLED. Literally!

I am 73 and was taking my 83 years old friend to a doctors appointment - at our ages that is about all we do it seems sometimes - which met a 40 mile drive one way. About 20 miles out the engine light came on. Since the dealership had told me before this "isn't a big deal" I chose to ignore the light. Should I mention we live 30 miles to the nearest city? This is all paved, country road driving?

About ten minutes later the on board computer sent a message saying the engine was powering down. That got my attention! I was on SR 27 between Utica and Crystal Springs, MS ~ there is NOTHING on this section of the highway ~ no houses, no nothing and a drop 4 to 5 foot off on the right so I couldn't pull off the road which is heavily traveled by huge log trucks.

As luck would have it we came upon a place where they make Septic Tanks. As it was on the left I decided I needed to get off the road, call my mechanic. So, I started to make my turn. Well, all I managed to do was find out I had no power steering and could only turn the wheel enough to head the car into the left lane and toward a ditch that is about five feet deep. Thank God I had brakes OR SO I THOUGHT as this places me headed toward a ditch, across the left lane of the highway and totally not knowing what the heck to do next. I managed to bring the car to a stop and was trying to figure out what to do when my friend saw a log truck in the distance, headed our direction. Now I really went into a panic.

I hit the horn to get the attention of the men working in the yard and one of them, a cement truck delivery driver, came out. He immediately yelled "Get out of the car", and his helper went to help my friend (who uses a cane and moves pretty slowly). I ran to the side of the road and started praying that log truck would stop. At least he slowed down and passed us. The guys managed to get the car into the lot ~ a lot of brute force put into play ~ and I called for help (Thank God for OnStar).

When trying to restart the car, nothing happened although it was obvious all the other electrical worked. I have to think it was something to do with the on board computer.

When the car was taken to the dealer in Vicksburg, where I bought it, they said they still couldn't find the problem so they "turned off the warning indicator". Hello! Does that mean next time the car powers down I won't be aware of it until I try to steer? Isn't this just a bandaid fix?

I don't know what to do, don't know how to handle this and am really concerned. I bought this car so I would have dependable transportation, living so far out in the country. Now I am apprehensibe about taking it out to drive and I believe the dealer just doesn't want to put more labour into the car.
