The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 75 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to respond. The contact also stated that when making a right turn, the steering wheel seized and the vehicle stalled. In addition, the service traction control and the reduced engine power warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the accelerator pedal needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
