Car started to flash every now and then "Tighten Gas Cap", would get out of car and tighten it and it would go away, then it started happening frequently and I would tighten as hard as i possibly could and light would still remain on until it would go off on its own, then check engine light came on, took my car to advance auto parts and they hooked up the OBD scanner on it and it said that there was a leak in my evac/emission system, which automatically I knew meant Gas Cap especially since this has been a very common prob in newer chevy's especially flex fuel, found flex fuel gas cap on amazon for 14.99 AC Delco OEM.
Update from Jun 25, 2013: Check engine light came back on, same reading, evac leak. Had to replace Purge Solenoid and Evap Canister, impala forums is packed with consumers who have had the same problem, it will be either one in your vehicle, could be gas cap which is 14.99 to 24 dollars, purge solenoid which will run from 22 to 32 dollars and the evap canister which runs from 40 dollars to 67, i would recommend buying online to get best pricing, either amazon or ebay will work.
