we are leasing a 2011 Chevy Impala LT,,,with no warning after 3 chimes a message appears on the dash" Service Traction Control, Engine power reduced" The vehicle will start to slow down and if going up hill will actually stall in the middle of traffic on the freeway. We took it to the dealer today they charged us $331.18 to diagnose the problem and replace the gas pedal. I did some research on line and found a lot of consumers with the same exact symptoms and the same diagnosis. I feel it is a safety problem because if you are driving along at 65 MPH and suddenly your vehicle slows down or stops on you with out warning you could be rear-ended. If feel if this year and model have a defective gas pedal that is a serious problem and Chevy should let consumers know and file a recall and bear the expense of replacing this defective part.
