Impala LT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

I purchased this car at 50,000 miles and at 3 years old, it has been decent to me. Lately I have had really awful electrical gremlins starting at the 100k mark. First the service stabilitrac light will go on and off occasionally with different messages. The check engine light stopped working and I couldn't pass emissions. Then one day I went to the gas station and couldn't get the car to fill with gas. It was at a quarter tank and I needed gas but it took almost a half hour of dripping fuel in slowly to make it work. Then the engine had half as much power as usual and the remote start no longer worked.

I took it to the dealership where I bought it. They had it for 2 months and charged me $1500 to diagnose it and replace the fuse block. The check engine light now worked and was on and the interior lights wouldn't shut off no matter what when the car was on. I tried to get them to fix it but they wanted me to pay more and I refused. I replaced the tank solenoid which is on the drivers side rear tucked behind the bumper. It was 25 bucks and took less than 20 minutes and I pulled the bulbs for the lights. Now I don't have interior lights but everything else seems okay for now. It did pass emissions and all other problems are now resolved, less no dome lights. Dealerships sucks.

Here we go again!!!! While driving my 2012 Chevrolet Impala the same issue occurred. The dashboard lights up saying "service traction control, service stabilink, engine power reduced" while trying to accelerate. I was in the middle of a turn & almost got t-boned because the car started cutting off. This has been less than 2 months of having it serviced for the same thing. First it was the wheel speed sensors & harness. Furious, because once again my life was in danger due to this death trap of a vehicle.

Impala

3rd time in less than 2 months. Once again service traction control, service Stabilink, engine power seduced. I am livid!!! While accelerating, once again the car eventually stalls out on me in the middle of traffic. First it was the sensors & harnesses, then it was the fuel rail sensor that had to be replaced. Money on top of money, just so the same thing can keep happening again. This must be a known issue because my extended warranty has not covered any of these issues that I am having repeatedly with this car. This is my second Impala & my 2009 Impala did this once & Chevy replaced the throttle for free.

Seems like this is the true issue here. I have almost gotten into 3 car wrecks due to this "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE STABILINK, ENGINE POWER REDUCED" BS! I have spent more money on this car in the past 5 months only to keep having the same issue all over again. This time the fuel rail sensor failed again! Something needs to be done or some type of recall because of sure other Chevy owners have this same issue & it's really scary for your car to stall in the middle of an interstate. Especially when you haven't had any issues with your vehicle. Chevy, what will it take for someone to get seriously injured for you to do a recall on the 2012 Chevrolet Impalas?!!

Impala LTZ 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 117,181 miles

It started with various LED dash lights that would work this time but not the next. They will take turns. This one is on now, but the one next to it will be out. And then they switch. 2.) Then the cargo lamp quit. The indicator light says it's on but it's not. (YES, I changed the bulb and tested the circuit.) 3.) If the map lights are on, and you switch one or both off at the light, the cargo lamp indicator light comes on. 4.) If the map lights are on, and the headlights are off,( parking lights on, ) the headlights and map lights will switch and then switch back. the map lights go off and the headlights come on. and then the headlights go back off and the map lights come back on. This lasts only a couple of seconds. (5.)The transmission has a trailer towing package. It turns on and off all buy it's self but I can't turn it on or off using the switch. (6.) Automatic, Electric, Four-wheel drive kicks on and off at random. (7.) Warning Light and the DIC says to service the air bag system but the system tests out OK. All of these systems run through the Body Control Module. The Body Control Module is the ONE problem. Tell me I'm wrong.
