Impala LT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,000 miles

Computer needs a software upgrade, when you try to get going at around 20 mph, or maybe even let's say at 35 mph, in traffic, when you step on the gas, there is like a 1 second hesitation, and I have even had an internal intake manifold back-fire... not good ! Seems like the computer is thinking about what gear the transmission should be in, and also the throttle position. Very irritating when you want to merge into traffic even at 65 mph, and when you kick it down, there is a huge hesitation ! :(

Impala LT LT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,500 miles

When cruising down the road, at almost any speed, I tap the gas to just catch up to traffic, or to increase speed slightly, there is a HESITATION / DELAY in the time you tap the gas, and the engine responds, of about 1 second. The Chevy dealer says that GM tech bulletins say that a 700 millisecond delay is normal. OK for that, but my 1991 Chevy S-10 pickup has almost an instantaneous response when I do the same. It is irritating to say the least. A friend has a 2008 Saturn with the same V-6 VVT engine, that has no noticeable delay when driving his car and do the same action.

Thank you
