Impala 2 LTZ 3.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,000 miles

I'm a retired policeman and should've known better. I took the word of a Salesmen that sold me the car. I was told that had navigation. Think I was buying top of the line 2 LTZ with everything looking at the dash navigation shows. But what that means is that some of the cars you have to subscribe to On-Star for directions.

When I finally took my savings, paid cash bought the car I found out that the map portion was not included and I would have to pay $1500.00 to up grade the system. You would think a $40,000 dollar car would have this as standard in all LTZ modals. But like I said, don't trust anyone, Chevy or your salesman, put your hands on it and you will know it's there. I've always loved Chevy's, looks like time for a change.

Impala 2LT 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3 miles

When I built my car using the build a car site, I was under the impression I was getting navigation w/my selection of Sound and Wheels (which included 11 speakers w/surround sound, etc.). With this option you also get or have available turn-by-turn Nav. What it doesn't say is that after 6 months your have to purchase a plan from OnStar to continue Navigation Service. I assumed (and I know better than to assume anything) that I would continue to have Navigation when OnStar ceased after the initial 6 mos. realizing that I would loose the turn-by-turn service.

If the site had not been so misleading or more importantly clarified the Turn-by-Turn Nav with OnStar service only, I would have paid additional for the real Nav Option.

Even when I picked up the car I was told I had Navigation, and when I recently called about the letter I rec'd from OnStar terminating of my Turn-by-Turn, I was told I still had basic Navigation. An hour later the dealer called and explained that I didn't have Nav after all. The Navigation option was important because I bought the car for my wife and she takes trips with her sisters.

With what I would spend for TBT service from OnStar for 3 yrs it would have paid for the Nav Option.
