The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that smoke started to emit from the rear of the vehicle and shortly after a fire started. The fire department was contacted and the fire extinguished on its own. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer. The technician stated that the brakes, brake pads and brake lines needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was awaiting further inspection of the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.
