Impala Premier V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,322 miles

Multiple issues of the same problem. Intermittent hard steering.

Right after purchasing the 2020 Impala Premier, within the 1st year, we reported the hard steering issues. Being that there was no code on the dash, dealer was unable to do anything.

November 23, 2023 hard steering again, took our car in and they were able to get a code. Quote from invoice: "VEH is hard to steer at times - acts like it has no electric steering ADV" cause: DTC C0800 Power steering control module low voltage, found while battery sitting over TP test dead cell and low CCA 185/535CCA - EG01 drivability test 716106 CPC - 1 88866309 48GHRA - Replaced battery and cleared DTC and retested. Total paid: $317.44

From that point we have, and to this date, still are having hard steering problems and when it starts the steering is getting much harder, and if braking the steering really gets harder to turn.

Steering was hard last week and we went right on to the dealer, and left the car running but as usual, by the time they got to us, what ever is happening had released and wasn't hard steering.

We purchased this car new in 2020 and have at least 10 - 12 or maybe more trips to the dealer. Good thing we are only 2 miles away! These trips are not logged and they check the steering.

And yes, the mileage I quoted is correct and now has, and I'm not looking at the odometer but + or - 7,500.

Other users have post this problem but I have not seen one being fixed?? I hope I'm corrected.
