problem #1

Dec 302007

Kodiak C5500 6.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,000 miles

The fuel gauge becomes inaccurate or stops working. The dealer said this is caused by leaving the key on while filling. The procedure from the dealer is to turn off the truck and make sure the key is not on. Then fill the front tank first. Even after performing all of this, they still fail. The worst part is finding out the gauge is not reading properly. You will figure it out on the side of the freeway!! Now when I fill I make it a habit to reset the trip. Start looking for fuel at about 250 miles.
