I have found so many people with this problem that I think Chevy should have a recall and fix this at their expense. I traded in a Ford PU for this Chevy Malibu LS thinking I would get better gas mileage. I have not even had this car for a year and it has already cost me almost $1,000 in repairs. What a lemon.

I bought this vehicle in 2000, brand new, and I should have kept it there. I first notice the problem after I had the car for only two years when the leaks were small. Then into my 4th year I had to put coolant in my vehicle at least once a month. Not only that, now I am having a problem with my brake lights staying on. I am also having problems with my heat does not work until it is on the 3rd setting. I can tell that this vehicle also has electrical problems because it always makes a crackling noise like hardwood floors heating up. The sad part about all of this is that they only had 1 recall for the turn signals not working, in which I just had to have that fix 11/2005. There should have a lot more recalls, but I have heard the same complaint about everything that is happening to me. If I have to give any advice on whether to buy a chevy it would be, NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I own a year 2000 chevrolet malibu and i have owned it for only a year and a half (120,000 miles recent). When the first problem occured it was at 96,000 and i saw before i bought it that it already had a problem with the fuel tank. I have been put through hell. First there was a problem with my turn signals and hazards going out, (within first month) then the heating core which caused me to warp 2 heads and have my car constantly over heat on me ( 5 months later). Then there was my car shutting off by itself and the steering going out... which related to the engine shutting off by itself (also recent), and now the most recent probem after putting atleast $1400 in it, I now have an even bigger leak to where within ten minutes all of the coolant is lost again. I had my heating core fixed professionally the first time. I am 19 years old and have bought 3 cars . I can tell you that I will never buy a chevrolet again. My 1995 pontiac grand am GT ran better than this car until someone hit me and totalled it, I would definately take that car over this one. The whole point of buying a new car is to get one that runs right. They are selling them under false judgement. They should not be allowed to sell a car regarding them building major parts of the car wrong and then trying to say they won't fix what they did! . There needs to be a law against this. the better business bureau...

I HAVE HAD THE CAR TOWED BECAUSE OF DUMPING OF ANTIFREEZE. THE RADIATOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. ALL IN ALL I'M SORRY THAT I BOUGHT THE CAR. IT WAS NEW AND FOR A NEW CAR I HAD TO MANY PROBLEMS. I DON'T DRIVE THE CAR THAT MUCH . I HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR 3 YRS.

Well.. the gaskets had to be replaced because their was water in the oil, but it turns out that my radiator had been leaking for quite some time (which explains why my car had overheated twice recently). It's not even worth replacing. Just a piece of junk.
