Malibu Classic 3.2L V6

Well, for starters, the key gets stuck in the ignition and the ignition after startup and the ignition will only turn halfway off. You have to fiddle around with it to get the key out. Not a bad thing because it's very sporadic, but I would like to know the problem so as to fix it.

Next discrepancy would be the jerking and loss of power. Going up hills and whenever it feels like it, the engine loses power, the engine light starts to blink and the car starts to jerk. It could need new spark plugs or new oxygen sensors. My family has gone through hundreds of dollars in replacement parts and hours of labor replacing parts ourselves; only to find driving it the next day it's not fixed. Taking the car to a dealer or repair shop is costly, I would rather do the work myself. Has anyone had this problem before and found a concrete solution? Would love some input, I don't want to run this car down, after all it's lasted this long, and it has over 150,000 miles and has never given us trouble.

My car started shaking when I turned on the air conditioning and would totally turn off when I stopped moving when the air was on. It got to the point that the car would die when I came to a stop (or even dropped below 5 mph) without the air on. Leading up to the problem, the anti-theft light and parking brake lights stayed on constantly and when my mechanic ran diagnostics, the codes would never reset. It turned out the wiring harness was corroded/burned out. It took a week for my mechanic to identify the problem. He consulted with the dealer, but the dealer was not of much use. Had I been charged for all of the time spent identifying and repairing this problem, the bill would have easily been $1,400. Along with the AC problem, turn signal problem, gasket/o-ring problems, water pump, gas gauge problems I've had, what's next? My family and I have been loyal GM customers for 40 years, but I'm leaving GM for good.

Same old story. Numerous repairs made inside and outside of warranty. The extended warranty I purchased was worthless as the warranty company went out of business. I speculate that the reason why is because they insured GM & Chevy cars!

This is the last GM car I will ever buy and I will tell everyone about my experience.

If you had good luck on GM then I am happy for you. I had three Olds Cutlasses (1973, 1976, & 1981) and was very happy. Then I bought a new 2000 GM car. They don't make them like they used to. What happened to American cars? What happened to customer service and satisfaction? Even customer service was rude. I have always bought American cars. I lost big $ on GM - Never Again...

Just about everything electrical in the dash seems to be going out. First was the hazards and turn signal going out, then blower wouldnt work on first 2 settings, then blower wont work except on high. All the lights on the radio have gone out except 1 button, radio stations do not come in, anti-lock brake lights stay on even after replacing brakes, and dome light and lights on review mirror will only work once in a while after car has warmed up. I don't think the electrical system in this car was done very well.
