This car has been a pain in my ass since we bought it back in 2001. Within the first 4 years of the purchase we replaced the engine, the transmission, the catalytic converter, the egr valve, and those are just things that cost over 300 dollars, many other things were replaced but they were all 150 and below.... Which when you think about it really adds up. One thing that always made me angry was a little while after we got it it would make this TERRIBLE screeching noise so we popped up and owners manual and my father checked under the hood and one of my belts was BACKWARDS. I mean come on!
Back to the signal lights... I found one sure fire way to get the signals to work but yes this is also a pain, when you apply pressure to the left or right side of the hazard lights button the signals will work. Just press it to the left or right and boom, signal lights.
Still... this car is a much bigger pain than it's worth.

i am trying to find out why my signal lights work sometimes and not i have been on the website and found all the recall but it don't show nothing and then when you try carfact for reports about the car they want to charge you 39.99 for 1 report and they say its free. lol.

signal light not working periodically. the solution that i made is to turn on the hazard light and it will work. I want a permanent solution for this problem. the advise of our local mechanic is to change the blinker or the flusher.
but i'm not sure if this will solve the problem.

1st off i had to replace my intake gasket, for which i heard is a wide-spread problem among these cars(thanks Gm)i had a friend change it and the plugs for$680.00 the dealer wanted $900 just for the gasket before taxes. Then my anti-theft light kept coming on but the car still worked, then i was stranded and had to get towed and ended up buy a pass-key sensor, and then again had to get a fuel pump, then finally a very nice tow-truck driver told me to put the key on the on position, wait til the light blinks after about 15-20 mins then your good to go.Now my signal lights sometimes go out and to fix this problem (my wife discovered this) you have to pull over put the hazards on let them blink about 10 times then the signals work again. Now my horn is not working. AND my temperature gauge isn't working it stays all the way down and the fan is on all the time, also my cruise control now works after about 3 years of not working.SO to make a long story short there's all kinds of crap going on under my dashboard----big pain in the rear.

My blinkers work most of the time, but every now and then they just stop working. Definitely annoying. There is no trend as to when they work and when they don't. I have no idea why this is happening

This is just crazy!! I thought I was tired one night when the blinkers were not showing up on the dash board when I turned either of them on. Last week the same thing happened during the day. No blinker lights.... no clicking... just nothing... it was almost as if the blinkers were just not there at all. The next day the blinkers worked fine. I don't get this car!! How dumb!!

I had the switch replaced by the dealership under recall and literally two weeks after
I left the shop it started right back up again. Ironically I wasn't having nearly as many
problems before I had it replaced. Now it is an utter pain in my backside. Oh and two
dealerships in my area want to charge me for it, including the idiots that replaced it
the first time. With two small children sitting in a dealership for several hours is not
fun.

blinkers are intermittent. GM has posted a recall for this exact problem, but after calling the recall center they claim that my car was built a few month after this problem occurred, so I am not covered. I stated that if we get in an accident I will be suing GM, they noted my comments. No wonder why GM's market share is declining.

I have had the turn signals work sporadically as well as other people on this site. I was unaware of the recall from Chevy of the hazard lites that would have fixed this problem and wound up spending $80 to replace the signal switch. Totally inconvenient.
