Own a 2002 Chevy Malibu. Had brakes and rotors replaced in 2006. Just had to do it again 12/5/08. Chevy should recall and replace the brakes free of charge. I use my car daily.

The anti-freeze holding tank keeps getting an oil residue in it and the anti-freeze keeps disappearing into the engine and has to keep being refilled. After speaking with a mechanic it is possible that the intake manifold gasket is failing. The A/C switch also turns off on its own. Rotors and brakes have been replaced three times.

Found corrosion on the brake lines and master cylinder, and other lines that are located under the battery corrosion plate. The battery corrosion plate was a good idea. However, putting brake lines & other components under were are not a good design. It's flawed, for if the battery plate becomes corroded, then it leaks onto the lines below and causes damage as in my vehicle.

Both front calipers and both rear calipers leaking. Problem covered under my fidelity extended warranty, but the new brakes that I had on there were ruined by brake fluid caused by the leak. Warranty does not cover brakes. I have 3 friends with the exact same vehicle and the exact same problems.

Brake rotors were so thin after less than 30K commuter mile that they had to be replaced. Dealership just told me that rotors were consumables.
- New Windsor, NY, USA
The rotors on this vehicle warped within the first year and continue to warp every two to four months. This is causing wear on the brakes which had to be replaced at 21338 miles at my cost and again at 31474 miles at the dealers cost.
- Athens, NY, USA
The brakes failed at 13000 miles creating a safety issue for myself and family. They were defective and worn down to nothing, creating an unsafe stopping condition for myself and family.
- East Hartford, CT, USA
There was a severe pulsation every time I used the brakes. I took it into the dealer to have it checked out. The rotors were warped and the pads needed to be replaced. My car only has 20133 miles on it. There is no excuse for the rotors to be warped and I know that pads last a lot longer than 20000 miles.
