This car had issues years ago when the water pump failed, and had that replaced at the dealer where I purchased the car, but on the way home from the garage, the fuel pump went out, I NEVER MADE IT HOME AFTER THE WATER PUMP was replaced. I was told they fail simultaneously. I had that covered by the warranty. Now after the DEX COOL litigation, I received $87.00 settlement. The sensor in the radiator went out causing non stop beeping while driving, a common problem after water pumps are replaced as they flush the radiator when replacing the water pump.
Now years later, the fuel pump has failed again, I have a Life Time Warranty from the DEX COOL lawsuit. Now, the Dealer will not loan a car nor do they sell insurance for a vehicle new or old. I have to lease a car from another Leasing Agent that sells insurance for cars not fully covered by our own insurance provider. This is a 2003 Malibu with 224K miles plus. I've recently spent over 2K to have the AC fixed, the Evaporator Coil was bad and also the compressor was bad. I don't know if DEX Cool covered those parts in their litigation. But I'm definitely not happy with the dealer.
Cable Dahmer's website had several disconnected numbers and calling to get this repair taken care of was time consuming not to mention more of my time running back and forth trying to secure another vehicle to drive to and from work. The CSR failed to mention that I had to have Full Coverage in order to get a loaner vehicle while these repairs are being made. Then another CSR also told me that they will not replace parts unless they have failed. Meaning I'll be along the road again waiting for yet another tow truck to take me again to another dealer to get the water pump, that will fail, as predicted. So now I have to again be at the mercy of auto techs and half informed CSR's trying to another loaner so that I don't lose pay or my job while trying to get the car repaired.
