Chevy knows they put a piece of sh** out for 2004 Chevy Malibu's. I bought this car at 9,000 miles at 9,500 miles my car was cutting out on me. Took it took the dealer and they didn't know what the problem was, but of course took my deductible. When running the a/c unit it switches from recirculate to fresh air on it's on, the compressor knocks just a piece of crap. You know they threw these cars together, because they made the same year car with two different body types, I have a friend that has a 04 Malibu with the newer body style that's real crazy. Beware of the Malibu's people!
