Malibu

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

Instead of being able to lock my car via remote or even pushing the lock button inside of the car, I am forced to go around to every single lock and push it down manually. Basically anything that is electrical on this car, you can count on not working. If there is one thing reliable about this car, it's that.

Malibu LT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

The driver's side door lock went out a couple years ago on my car and I didn't think anything of it, until my key fob starting acting up as well. I then began having difficulties with my car alarm, where it would go off and I would be unable to silence it due to a non-functional key fob or unlock button on my driver's side door. Eventually we had to disable to alarm by removing a fuse.

Just this month I found that my one year old battery was nearly completely drained due to an electrical short in the car. I do not know if this can be attributed to the wiring in the door, as there were various other loose grounds and shorts in the car that needed to be fixed - this repair cost me $450 to get all of the electrical problems fixed.
