This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Chevrolet dealer.
wow... I'm also not alone in the stereo department. I bought it. used last November and shortly after CD player would just shut down every now and then. Radio would work ok but you could not listen to or change CD's. Slowly but surely it also destroyed all my songs to the point where if one was left in there too long it sounded like you had just dragged that disk across gravel. After having to fix all of the important problems, didn't have the money to purchase another CD player and just kept my Ipod in the car

This is the second time in one year, WTF!!! Service department at the Chevrolet dealership in Kingsland, GA is awful. Every time I bring my car to them, I have to bring it right back. This time I found two screws on the floor from dash and grease on my seats. I took my car to them about a month before this problem to have it detailed. I payed $180 and after keeping it for most of the day, they did a less then half ass job. The manager had me bring it back for them to do it right. Two free details later, they finally did it right.

My cd player will not load cd's. You cannot even switch tracks. It is stuck on #1. I can only get a refurbished one for $375.00 plus tax because I was told GM does not make the parts for the model I have. I can buy a cheap one from WalMart but then I will not be able to see my warning messages or use the controls on the steering column.
I wanted to buy a newer Chevy Malibu but with the most recent problems I have been having I am very hesitant.
