The CD player itself works, but it doesn't eject. I tried the classic methods of hitting it and putting a wire coathanger through the hole in the CD but it seems to be stuck in there for good.

Started with a stuck CD, finally got that out. Now the CD Player runs and it is draining my battery after a couple of days. Had to pull fuse out Now I have No radio, time etc.

I see everyone is having this problem with cd player. I bought a 05 malibu without checking cd player. So I bought one on ebay for 45. then took it to dealer and paid 100 to install and program. Guess what CD player does not work. I wanted the OEM radio for this car and it does not work. I will be leaving bad feedback for that guy.

This is the second 2005 Malibu Max Ls that I have purchased. I love this car but like the other one the cd player doesn't like to take the cd and if you force it in it will get stuck. I am unable to use this one and made the mistake of not trying out the CD player before I purchased the car. It seems from reading other complaints and having experience with two Malibus now that this is a very common problem. Why hasn't this been recalled? Hopefully my warranty will cover it but if not this really sucks, especially since this is the second time with the same car. I purchased the first Malibu in 2007 with only 30 thousand miles on it and its cd player had the same problem. This sucks!

So if all the other posts were read you will know that I am highly upset with this car. It is going to cost me the same amount of what i owe just to get everything repaired. I go to use my CD player and i cant get it back out. There were times i could turn the car off and it would reset itself and i would be fine for about a day or two but then back to the same issue. I am thinking it is going to cost me 500.00 to have it fixed because my car tells me everything. NOT HAPPY.
Also i went on a trip and parked my car for a week and when i cam back and started my car the light for my power steering came on and with me being NOT A MECHANIC and just a female i was instantly scared and upset. Came home, parked the car and the next day started my car and the light was gone. once again NOT HAPPY

I purchased my 05 malibu in september of 2010. Less then a month later my cd player stopped ejecting cds. Very aggravating due to me traveling and wanting to listen to my cds while on the road

When a CD gets stuck in the player, the dealership and owners manual will both agree that only a factory certified dealership can fix the problem and get your CD back out. The fact of the matter is, there is no fix. There is, however, a way to get your CD and it only takes a few seconds. Follow these steps: 1) Go to front passenger seat. 2) From seat, pull the plastic cover from the center console in the foot well. This does not require the removal of any screws, the piece just pops into and out of place. 3) You should see a fuse panel in there and a map of it on the back of the plastic cover. This will tell you where the fuse for the radio is. Locate that fuse and pull it out. You don't need to disconnect the battery, but some people prefer to. 4) With the car running, you can see that the radio does not work. Wait about 10 seconds and replace the fuse. You should see the radio come back to life. 5) If the radio does not come back to life then, turn the engine off and then back on. The radio will work then. 6) Press the eject button and your CD will come out as if there was never a problem in the first place. This will not stop the problem from occurring again, but once you do this a few times, you get pretty good at it. This shouldn't happen too often, but if it does, you know how to get past it now. Good luck.

This Cd player is really a problem, first it got one of my CDs stuck in it and the dealers could not just take it out they had to replace the whole console! so now a Second player and its doing well, until this year( Oh, the replace happen when i first bought it 2 months in) Now it will make my CD sound like a record player and fade off and stop playing. So now when I play a cd and I hear the record sound I have to switch over to radio and wait about 10-15 minutes and switch songs on the CD in order for it to play again, yet sometime even all of that doesn't work for long! This can be very annoying on long trips.

My car won't eject the cds! I've got to get a screw driver and needle nose pliers to get the cds out!!! Tough to do when you're driving!!!

My 6 disc cd changer has four cds stuck and no amount of pressing eject gets them out. It makes a clicking sound and also shows "ejecting" on the DIC, but the cds don't come out. I've had this happen before when the car was still under warranty and was told not to use burned cds because they are thicker and can get stuck. Well the ones stuck this time are original cds from the artists and the car is no longer under warranty. To avoid listening to the player click as it tries to play each cd, I just listen to the radio. I DO NOT have the money to replace what I believe to be a factory defect in these players! Chevy 05 models are horrendous!

So, I bought my 2005 Malibu without checking to see if the cd player was functioning properly. I know, I know.. my stupid mistake. But it's a total pain in the butt. It says "no disk" when there is a cd in the player, and it won't eject. When you press the eject button it makes this awful clicking noise. Sometimes if you hold down the button for 45 seconds or so the cd will come out but not always. I suggest just getting an input for your mp3 player. That's what I plan to do.

I just bought this car used and never thought to test out the CD player, (my mistake) but it don't work, it wont even let you put a disc in. If you attempt to put a disc in it wont grab it from you and pull it in like it should, and if you try to force it in it will just get stuck, I have tried to Unplug the battery and see if that resets it and will force out a "stuck CD" if there is one. But Nothing, still get the same disc error "No Disc". Have tried multiple Cd's and have no luck! Has anyone found the solution to this problem yet? I heard its a very common problem and they should recall it, but dealership said they want around $500 with labor. and I don't want to result to a aftermarket one.

I purchased a 2005 Chev Malibu in June 2008, with 32,400mi. I have only had this car for three months and the cd player does not work at all. When ever i try to enter a cd it will not let me and when i press the eject button it says "no disk"....I took it upon my self to have some one give me a estimate on how much it would cost to fix it and they said the kit alone for this car would cost $150 and this does not include the labor to have it installed.....Is anyone else having this problem if so how do we fix it without having to pay for it our self...

I bought a 2005 Chevy Malibu LT w/37,500mi. The CD player will not allow me to insert a disc. I get a "No Disc" message when I push the eject button though I can't be sure if there is a disc stuck in the player. It appears there is something blocking the opening where you insert the disc. Anybody have this problem? Anybody have a cure?

CD player doesn't work. And there's no aux input or tape deck, so I have to use one of those awful FM transmitters for music.
