In 2006, I purchased a 2005 Chevy Malibu LS V6. I have had nothing but trouble with it since two months after I originally purchased it. I am constantly having problems with brakes, brake pads, and rotors. Also it is constantly needing a front end alignment. I am at my witt's end with this car. Now power steering is going out and brakes are locking up on all four tires. I am scared to death to drive this car with my 7 yr old son. I have to borrow someone else's car just to bring him to school five block away from my home. This morning I contacted Turan Folley Chevy dealership in Gulfport, MS. I was told that there where no recalls on the model car that I have. He did say that there is a policy on power steering, not a recall a policy. Really don't understand the difference. He went on to tell me that the "policy" will expire after 250,000 miles. My car has not reached that amount of miles yet, so I asked him if I could bring it in. He told me I could not because my power steering is not acting up at the moment. But if I reach 250,000 miles and the power steering starts acting up again I am just up the creek without a paddle. Come on GM you really need to take responsibility for your actions, and starting recalling these death traps. I will never purchase another GM, Chevrolet vehicle again in my life unless they make this right, and I feel too guilty to sell my car to anyone else. I guess I am just stuck with this lemon until something is done about it.

My brakes were making a weird noise so I brought it in and the mechanic told me I needed new Brake shoes so he replaced my rear shoes.

I Bought my Malibu Maxx used. I absolutely loved it. I started having problems with the brakes and the dealership originally looked at me like i was crazy, so they went ahead and replaced the brake pads, a week later, it was right back to squeaking and then screeching. Its an annoyance especially when everyone stares at you while you are coming to a complete stop. I have then had the brake pads sanded down because the guy at Good Year stated that that would work. It did for 3 days and then right back to squeaking. Now i drive a vehicle that all it does is squeak when I drive and is embarrassing to be in.
