Malibu LS 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission

From what I've deduced online, this isn't so much a bad EGR valve as it is a bad engine design. Code P0401.

From what I've read, the solution is to take apart the engine and clean the EGR passages inside of it. Screw that.

It also causes a drop in gas mileage.

Malibu LS 3.5L V6

poor EGR flow detected after check engine light came on. I replaced it myself and saved over $200. Of course when I took vehicle in for another problem that code still shows and they want to redo it. I told them not to touch it.
