I have had my engine stall due to lack of fuel multiple times which seems dangerous, I travel on the expressway every day. What if it happens at an fast speed. I also have had multiple issues while steering my car. There is an loud popping, coming from a steering shaft, which has just gotten worse I am afraid the steering shaft is going to break! both of these issues have been an recall for 2005 Malibu. As I am clearly having these issues my car is not part of the recall" why not" if something happens and I end up in an accident I see a lawsuit. Not to mention I have a 4 month child!

On 11/21, I took my 2005 Malibu to the GM dealership for a recall on the "steering" to replace the torque sensor assembly. NHTSA campaign number: 14V153000. When I left the dealership and driving for awhile, I noticed my car would partially stall at traffic lights or stop signs. I called the dealership when I got home and they told me to bring it back the next day, but I had to work. Today, 11/26 I took my car to the GM dealership because the car continues to partially stall at traffic lights or stop signs. I informed one of the reps what was happening and that I had no signs of this issue before the recall replacement. I was told they never went under the hood of my car during the recall replacement. It was all done at the steering column; that this issue is something that just happens without any warning at all. He informed me that other folks have come in with the same issue...not sure if this was after they also had the recall done. I tried telling the service dept., I had no other issues before bringing my car to them for the recall, but instead was told this was not their fault and I would have to pay for whatever is wrong with the car. I didn't let them touch it again. I will take it to my mechanic, who I never had an issue with after working on my car. I noticed there was a recall in 2011 for component(s): Fuel system, gasoline; NHTSA campaign number: 11E009000 and never received this recall. I bought this car from car max in 2011. Just speculating if this may be my problem. I also never received the recall for NHTSA campaign number: 14V224000 component(s): Power train. More work to do to find the answers.

We have received 3 separate recall notices from GM. (1 for electric steering, 1 for brake apply sensor and 1 for a shift cable fracture). However, GM will not fix any of the problems. They tell us to call the dealer. The dealer then tells us that GM will not supply the parts. Upon calling GM a third time, they will not reveal who is making these parts, where they are coming from, or have any idea when they will be available. They again instruct us to call the dealer. Each recall states that it is an "important safety recall" in accordance federal laws but yet nobody will fix any of the issues. The first recall notice came in 2012 for electric steering. We are still being told there are not parts to fix this. The brake apply sensor came in July 2014. The shift cable fracture also came in July 2014. (this indicates that the cable can snap while driving).

The mechanic also advised the contact that if he did not get the vehicle repaired and the leak continued, the vehicle would possibly explode. The vehicle was repaired. I am not sure of the exact part, but was driving down the road and car went from a fuel tank of gas to showing none. Which I know wasn't the case as I had just stopped and filled up. Is this a common problem I have noticed a lot of recalls with fuel pumps and ignition switches which I also have had issues with. I can go to turn my key but need to really push hard on my gas to get it going. The car has shutoff on my while driving once but I was able to steer it off to the side of the road.

Vehicles brake lights stick on while driving. Sometimes they flash when going aprox 65 and up. It appears the brake lights also flash when car is changing gears. The car once would not shift into drive while reversing and lost all power steering. Also the brakes or something at front of car shakes rapidly when accelerating and even worse when going down hills.

I consider us lucky. We were in a wal-mart parking lot 25 miles from home, and the car wouldn't start. I played with the ignition off and on for half an hour, and a connection was made, and the car started. I was careful to keep it running, and made it home. The next day, the same problem. The electrical connection to the fuel pump was missing. I had it towed to my repair shop, and they replaced the ignition switch. Cost $620.54. On 2/7/2013 the fuel pump was replaced. I feel that the incidents are connected. I think the loss of electrical feed to the fuel pump harmed the pump, and caused it to fail. Cost of fuel pump replacement was $635.11.this adds up to $1255.65 repair bills which should have been unnecessary. I feel there are more cars out there that GM should be made to recall and repair with better parts. I was lucky! others were not, and we don't need more unnecessary deaths on our highways.

The fuel gauge is erratic after I fill the tank, the gauge goes directly to empty after driving about 2 miles. It would correct itself when there was about a half tank of gas left. Vehicle has failed to start after driving and then parking. First time had vehicle towed to S repair shop. They replaced fuel pump and installed a new fuel filter. Vehicle still did not start. I researched the problem on the web. I found several complaints. I found that the problem was the vehicle anti- theft device. It malfunctions and shuts the fuel injectors down. I found a fix on the web, you have to turn the key on for 10 to 15 minutes until the vehicle theft light quits blinking turn key to the off position remove the key wait 1 to 2 minutes and then start vehicle it works. This is a temporary fix it will happen again. It has happened to me two more times. I called the local Chevrolet dealership and inquired to see if they had heard or have seen this problem I was told that the problem has been around since 2002 and there has not been a re-call for the problem. I called Chevrolet and informed them of the problem. Their response was that they were not aware of the problem. According to the dealership GM has been aware of the problem for years. And they have not done a thing to correct the problem. According it will cost $500 to replace the defective parts. This in my opinion is totally unacceptable. This is a potential safety hazard putting people in danger.
