Malibu

  • Automatic transmission
  • 92,000 miles

Got this car back in December of 2006. It hasn't given me any major problems until this. At first we thought it was the heater core because the air conditioner and heater weren't working right, and there was a gurgling noise coming from the dash. It was losing coolant somewhere, and after noticing that it wasn't running out on the ground, we checked the oil to find it was indeed milky. So it appears that the same problem tons of other malibu owners have been having has hit me, and since Chevy/GM apparently doesn't think customer satisfaction is important, it isn't covered under their amazing 100,000 mile power train warranty (they started that with the 2007 models). So, I'm left with a hunk of useless metal that I still have a payment on and can't afford to get fixed. Thanks Chevrolet for your worthless attempt at a vehicle. Unless they show me they actually care about their customers, I WON'T be buying from them again!

Malibu 2.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

I bought this in 2007 with 17,000 miles on it. I am a mechanic and have done all the regular maintenance on it to insure the longevity of the car. I was changing the spark plugs due to a slight miss upon cold start and noticed the coolant was low in the reservoir. Then I noticed once the car was running a stream of antifreeze coming out of the top side of the engine. I could not figure out where it was coming from so I took it to a local shop to have it pressure tested only to find out that it was seeping out of the cylinder head. I was in disbelief because I knew this car had been taken care of and never overheated. This is a manufacturing flaw in the casting! I called GM to complain and am currently trying to get them to help with the bill. I am uncertain of the outcome but will update soon as I find out something. This should have never happened!
