I have a 2006 malibu ss. When I'm driving down the road my brake lights come on when I press the brake pedal they go off. I count to six seconds and they will stay on until I press the brake pedal again. I just replaced the brake switch and still the same. It's pissing me off. If there are so many problems with this, you would think there would be a recall but F@%k knows.

I have been having problems with my brake lights for almost a year now. I have brought it into the dealership 3 times to only have them tell me that they could not duplicate the problem. I have 2 children who are more than likely in the car with me and all times and the other day a friend who was following behind me for at least 5 miles, informed me that everytime I braked my brakes lights would not come on but when I took my foot off to brake to speed back up, the brake lights would come on!!! i have had people at intersections flag me down to tell me my brakes lights were continuously on and asking if I had the Emergency Brake on because my the lights stayed on. I have followed my husband after picking the car up from being looked at & the brake lights would come on after braking, then stay on for miles until he pressed the brakes once again. At this point, I am very fearful of being rear ended. And feel that I am S.O.L.

Brake lights are almost constantly on. Tried the GM service bulletin fix of isoelectric goo applied to the connector within the dash. Worked for less than 3 months and the problem has returned. This issue either disengages the cruise control or renders the option useless. I travel with my two children in the car and fear being rear-ended. Dealer attempted to repair twice with no results (claimed they could not recreate the issue). Super safety issue. Where's the recall GM? Stand behind your junky product! I guarantee that I'll never buy another GM.
