Malibu LS 2.1L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 79,000 miles

I just bought this car 5 months back with 78000 miles. I checked with mechanic and said a good car. I thought I can keep this car for another 2 yrs. But the problem started after 1-2 months, I was seeing engine light. I took it to the mechanic and he changes spark plugs. Problem happened again. I checked with NTB and other mechanics and they were not able to tell the issue.

Last week I took it to the dealership and they took another $135 to diagnose. They said the 4th cylinder compression is 1/2 compare to others. They didn't give me approx cost but they said it would be around $2200.I am getting rid of this car. I already lost some money and don't want to lose any more. I will never buy a Chevy again.

Malibu LS 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54,000 miles

Newer car I thought? I am replacing the motor at 54,000 miles!!!! Not cool at all, cost me $2,700.00 Probably should have just bought a new car with that! I was told that 3 of my 4 cylinders were running on full horse power and the 4th was only about 1/2. A motor should most definitely not need to be replaced at 54,000 miles
