The gas cap alarm stays on., I already purchased four new caps the last one was from the dealer and the problem still on. After the alarm is reset it takes two days to coming back.

Malibu LS 2.4L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 20,000 miles

At first, the dealer (Quirk in NH) didn't believe we were puting the gas cap on right. This happened for the first 2 visits. 3rd visit they did a pressure test an found nothing. 4th visit the got permission from GM to change the tank. Never had the problem again. side note #1. I know something about pressure testing. A minor vaccuum leak can be missed " IF" you don't know what to look for or give the test enough time. side note # 2. I came in with 2 issues and they chose to ignore the second issue, evan when I repeated it on the 2nd visit. After that I went to a better dealer down the road. More personable. I wish Pontiac would come back.
