- replace door lock actuator (2 reports)
This is a serious safety issue. The door lock actuators are prone to fail early and often. In the event of an accident or even just parking a car on a hot summer day with children could be fatal if doors cannot be opened.

I bought the car used from Mossy Nissan in San Diego with my mom for 13,000 with only 23,000 + miles. It is actually a great car and the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. With that said, the problem was already occurring when we test drove the car. The right rear door lock would not unlock. They urged us to buy the extended warranty and promised to fix it. So we did and it worked fine for awhile. But later in mid April it started again. Now it will not unlock except very rarely. It is a pain in the neck to lower the window to unlock the door.
I should have gotten it fixed while still under warranty but never had the time. Also now the locks will not lock with the key fob so I have to do it from the, door switch. This started about a couple of years ago. Unlocking is fine though although rarely the doors will not unlock. I would still recommend a Malibu over many other vehicles. Never had any problems with the engine or drive train except the TPS sensor. Which cost less than $100 to replace.
