Malibu LS V6

Driver door either will not latch or once latched will not unlatch. There have been enough complaints about this, it is not a random occurrence and should be addressed. I will have to take my car to a Chevy garage and have it fixed. I have always owned Chevy and have kept them 10 years. This is just BAD customer service.

Passenger front door not able to open. Lock seems to work, button goes up and down, but the door latch itself does not work when the lock button is up. How can I fix this problem? How do I get inside the door to check the latch linkage?

6 weeks ago, I went to unlock my door and it wouldn't open. I let it sit and after about 10 minutes, it opened; however, I couldn't close it. I took it to a repair shop and they tried and could not close it. I took it to Chevrolet here in PA and the door latch closed. I was told when it happens again, to lift up the lever and there should be no problem.

Yesterday I go to lunch the door opens, I get to my destination and I could not get out of the car on the driver's side. I had a technician from my job try to open the door from the outside while I was in it with and without the key to no avail. I had to exit out of the passenger side door and leave car doors unlocked. 6/22/15 I have another appointment with Day Chevrolet here in Monroeville PA. I would like to think it's covered under warranty. If the door is not closing or closing and not opening, it is a safety hazard. This is the third time this incident has happened.

The first time my door did not latch I thought I had just not closed the door all the way. Now it has been three weeks and continues to be an issue that is getting worse. It sounds like this is a common problem with Malibu's the more I research it. Why is GM not doing anything to help their consumers? I have been pretty satisfied with my car but lately I seem to keep having more and more issues, some of which they can't seem to figure out. Very discouraging. Will probably not be buying another GM vehicle until they can get their manufacturing together. I plan to have my husband tinker with the door first to see if we can't figure it out ourselves. My wallet has been taking a hit with all of these silly repairs.
