problem #1

Malibu 2.3L 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 95,000 miles

The car started leaking gas all over the place. I checked it out using a camera. The cheap, plastic gas line on top of the crappy plastic gas tank was cracked at the pump. This is very dangerous. Also, it turns out that you have to purchase a whole new pump because the line is fused to the pump, not screwed in or coupled. The new pump with the line was $280, plus the labor to drop the tank was another $200. The bottom line is the Chevy Malibu has a dangerous, plastic fuel line that breaks for no reason.
