I just bought this Malibu in November. Its used and has about 13K miles on it now. I started feeling and hearing this thud or pop when the wheel re-centers itself, or when turning and breaking. I brought it to Chevy when i got the oil changed and they could not re-create the noise, obviously... It went away for a week or two, and is back again. happens mostly within the first 30 mins after turning the car on, then stops for the most part. I have NO idea what to do about this and its annoying the life out of me! Can anyone help?

I called GM in 2014 when I first started hearing the rattling sound after it was diagnosed at the dealership that this was going on. The dealership told me the problem would cost around $800. To be repaired. I called General Motors to see if they had any reports coming in about this problems and was told "no". Then they told me that they would contact the dealership and see if something could be worked out. I got a phone call back stating they would be willing to pay $400 of the cost of the repair bill, which I did not agree to due to the fact that this car cost me over$19,000. So why should I have to pay for a part that was obviously defective in the beginning and passed on during the inspection process so GM quota could be met.
Now, if anyone knows of anything that we can do to get GM to stand behind this problem, I am onboard because this appear to be a real issue and thank goodness, no one has been seriously hurt.
