problem #1

Nov 202015

Malibu LS 2.4L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Front susupension struts started going bad after just 40k miles and after 60k miles the ball joints started going bad too! Replaced with Monroe quick struts myself now just need ball joints next. Suspension on Japanese and Korean cars lasts much longer!

Update from Dec 9, 2019: So I found out it is not the ball joints that are bad, but rather the front lower control arm bushings causing lots of clunking and rattling noises over bumps and ruff roads. Now the CV joints/axles are going bad at just 80k miles, which makes clicking noises whenever the car is in reverse with the steering wheel turned.
