problem #2

Malibu LXT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,000 miles

A week after purchase check engine light would come on. Along with it service ESC and service traction control lights. Took to dealer and they cleared the codes and said if it does it again bring it back. Been there several times and last time I was told bring it in and we can take the engine apart and MAYBE find something covered under your warranty (after market). If it is something not covered it would be about $900.00 for the tear down and then the price of parts and labor. Found out that the car, which we were told was a 1 owner prior to use purchasing, was actually used as a fleet vehicle.

Now car idles really rough. Engine light and the others all come on when car is at an idle but when I hit 30 MPH lights stop flashing but engine light stays on. Bought a code reader and it says either a cylinder 4 misfire or random multiple misfire. Chevy is doing NOTHING TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM! Had a friend that works at a different dealer run the Vin and come to find out the car was serviced under the original warranty prior to us buying for the check engine light. I will never purchase another Chevy and I tell everyone I know to stay away. Too many recalls and customer service blows.

THIS IS A RIP OFF ON CHEVY'S BEHALF. WITH ALL THE ISSUES AND RECALLS , WHY HAS THIS COMPANY BEEN ALLOWED TO SELL THESE CARS. I FEEL THAT WE AS CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE REFUNDED OR ARE ABLE TO TRADE IN THE CAR BUT NOT AT OUR EXPENSE. WE ARE BEING DRAINED WITH CAR NOTES AND INSURANCE WITH THE COST OF REPAIRS UNTIL THE DEFECTED PARTS ARE BUILT OR WE ARE CONTACTED. REALLY BAD BUSINESS.
