Malibu LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 94,000 miles

The steering wheel is locking up while driving. It is the scariest thing ever if you are backing out, turning a corner and you can't move the steering wheel.

Malibu LTZ 2.5L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 189,000 miles

2012 Chevy Malibu power steering went out. ESC error. Totally dangerous. If GM know about these issues, there should be a recall for the models for warranty replacement. Driving down the road and the error kicks in and you lose the steering of the vehicle.

Chevrolet needs to stand behind their work and make good of their mistakes. After complete loss of steering and barely missing a pedestrian, I contacted the dealer to ask if they could tell me how this possibly could have happened!!! HOW!!! on a damn 2012 model......There response was "how many miles are on you car sir"......I bought the car for dependable long travel.

It is my belief that Chevrolet throws these cars together just for a sale. You leave the lot with a warranty that they know will expire before the defective parts give way. Such as the cheap ass bearing installed inside the rack and pinion that gave way in my vehicle. It's like buying a pair of Air Jordans and th sole falls off after one basketball season. That just don't happen!! For the safety of America ....STOP BUYING THE BEAUTIFUL MALIBUS UNTIL JAPAN OR CHINA STARTS MANUFACTURING THEM.....DON'T BE A DUMMY AND TAKE THE CHANCE OF LOSING YOUR LIFE OR SOMEONE YOU LOVE!
