I searched for 3 months to find the car I wanted, I found it. 2012 white Malibu of course the sales department did everything they could to sell me this car. I was very happy until the small things that were promised to be fixed needed to be addressed by the service department (horrible) it took almost three months to get any help from that department kept getting the run around about a rep is supposed to call me back to make an appointment for service I never received that call, any how the tire pressure light kept going on and I had to keep adding air so I went to a tire shop for repair and was told that it could not be repaired because the rim was cracked. So I went to the dealership, was treated horribly by a service department rep and accused of damaging the rim. The service manager never acknowledged me and told the rep to charge me for a replacement so I went to the general manger. I let him know how I was treated and informed him that I was not paying because my contract does not state that I bought the car as is. He was very helpful and kind long story short the back driver side rim was replaced no charge. A year later I had to get new tires and after that the tire pressure low add air light appears I went to the tire shop and come to find out the front driver side rim was cracked, here I go back to the dealership where the same service rep treated me horribly and I went straight to the new general manager who was very kind and helpful. He did research and requested the rim be replaced, but my problem with that is that they are not solving the problem by replacing the rims with ones that are going to be a future problem but according to them they have never heard of such a thing as cracked stock rims. However, my supervisor did the research and there are many complaints since 2009 about the GMC rims cracking on the weld, so I'm wondering why is there no recall on this? What does the death toll have to reach to before something is to be done? I let the sales manager at the dealership know that as far as I am concerned I was sold a death trap, and to make matters even worse the tire pressure low add air light is back on and I am having to put air in the tires of both the rims that were replaced, I do a lot of driving all over the west coast and now I have to do it with severe anxiety until I can come up with enough money to buy real rims which will have to be after market because the Chevy rims are ridiculously priced. Not right or fair.
