problem #2

Malibu ECO 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 57,000 miles

For a 2013 Chevy Malibu. Bought new in November 2012. Check engine light came on. Luckily was only 8 blocks from home. Got home code was for crank shaft sensor or timing chain. Within 2-3 mins engine powered down and would not restart. Had it towed to dealer (Weston GM, Buick Gresham.Or) was told timing chain had jumped a tooth and the engine was blown.

Called GM customer service, took them 3 weeks to call is back after 4 messages left for our "senior advisor". Was told it wasn't a manufacturer defect and would not be covered. Still owe money on it and dealer will charge $6000 for a new engine to be put in! Only 57,000 miles and it needs a new engine.

Will never buy another Chevy. Poor product and crappy customer service.

Malibu 2LZ 2.0lturbo Dohc 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 31,789 miles

I had recorded several dates From Feb. 2014- November 2015 in snow, to sunny 70's where the car would just crank and crank but not start/fire. It would take several attempts and trips to the dealer. No Fix.

Reason was they could not duplicate the problem.
