Malibu LT 2.5L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 68,000 miles

Wow! Another wheel bearing failure on my '13 Malibu. This will be the third one. This time it was on the front-right side. I knew it was coming because I heard a "rubbing" noise when turning to the left. Once I got the "service StabiliTrak" message and ABS light, it was confirmed. The back two have already been replaced. (see my earlier complaints)

THIS IS INSANE. Why has Chevrolet not corrected this issue with a recall?

When will my fourth and final wheel bearing fail? Who knows? Let's roll the dice and find out.

I'm "lucky" that I have an extended warranty, but I will not be purchasing another vehicle produced by Chevrolet.

Malibu ECO 1SA V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 49,500 miles

49,500 miles & a right rear hub sensor is broken. $390. I have owned many vehicles, and only the GM products have required large, costly repairs at mid range mileage. Fortunately, the 2009 Impala we owned was covered under a powertrain warranty through 100,000 miles. I guess we either sell the vehicle or become used to the fact that the other hub/hub sensors will get damaged as well, and also need to be replaced. Cost of ownership of GM vehicles is too high. I will file a complaint with GM, but am thinking it will not likely lead to anything.
