Malibu Maxx LT V6

While on business in another city my car when started would not go into gear or if it would it would go into reverse in an accelerated mode. Then it just didn't shift into gear at all and I had to have it towed home over an hour away....I see there is a recall on this now but I was never notified....shame on GM!!!
