Malibu Maxx LS 3.5L V6

I have a 05 Chevy Malibu Maxx that has been having issues with the transmission. It has slipped out of gear and now I can't drive it over 40 MPH. The Chevy dealer I took it to to have the recalls fixed checked the fluid level and said it was ok. I was wondering if anyone else has had this similar problem. If so, how much would it cost to fix.
