Malibu Maxx LT 3.5L - V6

  1. Cooling problems began on 5/8/2013 (32160 mi) with leaking plastic "T" connector (engine/expansion tank/heater) causing overheating indication. Apparently "T" connector began collapsing from the constant pressure of the spring-type hose clamps. "T" was dealer replaced, along with hose clamps (worm drive instead of OEM type). Water pump may have been effected at that time.

    2. Noticed coolant loss on 11/18/2013 (34084). Pressure tested system 1/20/14 @37982 with no obvious sign of a leak. Pressure indication did drop from 15 psi but appeared to stabilize at 12 psi.

    3. Pressure tested today @ 15 psi, and leak detected (drip - drip, abot one second intervals). Drip is located approximately under the water pump (right/belt side of Engine) Drip slows down as coolant is lost and pressure drops. Probable source? Water Pump?
