When I would press the brake pedal, my car would make a loud continuous clicking noise until I depressed the pedal. Also, my cars entire lighting system would blink in unison with the clicking noise. I tried solving the problem by replacing the Stop Light Switch. Not it. Waste of $13. So, I unplugged the connections from my stop light switch and drove around the parking lot(not in front of vehicles!!) and my anti-lock brake light came on the dash, but the clicking and dimming lights stopped. So, I plugged all the connections back in so I had brake lights again and unplugged the ABS fuse. The clicking and dimming has stopped! I realize that this is a short term solution as I have no ABS and I'm concerned it could mess with my braking system. So, what is wrong with my ABS that would make a weird click noise and dim my lights?!

I don't know what is wrong with my car, but after looking at a couple of other people's complaints that sound like they have had the same problem, I am wondering what it was that was wrong!!! I hear clicking EVERY time I step on the brakes, and its progressively getting worse. I have had a diagnostic done on it and no codes come up. I too have had the "low trac" light come on briefly, but then it goes away as soon as I let off the brakes or have been stopped for a little bit. I also noticed a dimming of my headlights when I hear the clicking sound, and it seems that my car does loose some power until I am at a complete stop or start going again. What is wrong with it?

Two garages have looked at my car, no solution yet. At less than 15 mph, hit brakes it DOES NOT click, over that,, clicks clicks, clicks, and sometimes LOW TRACTION light appears but goes out.

I'm sure my ABS is defective, but the brake mechanics have not mentioned that there is a problem with them (wouldn't you think after an evaluative test drive they would have said something if it was a serious safety issue?). My brakes work OK, and have at last check a half life of the pads and shoes. The noise is particularly annoying, and I often wonder if people on the side walk or cars next to me can hear the clicking. My symptoms match the others I've just read on your site. I will not spend any more money on the car for trouble shooting, but I am ready to punch that emergency brake pedal with every stop. If I still have the car after a hard breakdown, I may have that fixed.
